but I've already seen this info. Do either of you know where I can get the actual journal articles?

Our campus group is attempting to get the week of October 11th recognized as GLBT diversity week through the student government and people are using this research against us. I'm trying to formulate a response to it, but I want to be able to read everything and trace it all back to the beginning (1984 and 1985 research) since I've read that it doesn't make any sense. I wanted to look at the reasearch and to see that it doesn't make any sense. This way I can convince others of the same.

I did a piece on my blog about Cameron a couple of months ago when he was sending out a press release based on one of his old studies. You might find some info here since it references a study in a journal called Psychological Reports (which is more a non-peer-reviewed "vanity" press than a legitimate journal). I'm going to print out your blog piece and add that to my database of information.

I've downloaded all of the information printed by the "family research institute" with the express purpose of telling those who would use derivatives of Cameron's research that I've read them and they don't know what the hell they're talking about.

I have a small background in statistical analysis. I think I'll be able to make a case for it in such a way that whomever comes after me in the big debate will feel great pressure to leave the information gleaned from this "researcher" out of their speech.

I would like to educate some of them, but I'll settle for this for the time being.

8. Are you a college student? If so, then does your college

Are you a college student? If so, then does your college or university have a psychology department? MD/psychiatry department?

However, if your college doesn't have a psychology or MD/psychiatry department, then your college library may still stock these periodicals. Or if your college does not stock these periodicals then maybe your college can get them on loan for you under a reciprocity agreement with another college who does stock those periodicals. These are some research questions about which to ask your college librarian. Also ask if you can get those periodicals online. Maybe your college has a subscription to view them online. Maybe if your college doesn't subscribe to those periodicals, then maybe your college library has a reciprocity internet weblink (thus printout) to obtain them from another college library, etc.

These publications are going to be difficult to find because they are way the hell outside the accepted "norm" in the field of psychology. That being said, sometimes these periodicals are stocked because of their controversial nature and because of the very fact that they are way the hell out of accepted science.

If these suggestions fail, then query your college librarian to help further. The library personnel are the appropriate people to assist you in this matter. Maybe this issue could grow into something for college credits if you are willing to put the time and effort into it with the approval of your college, that is. You know, write a research paper in the future for credit. Debunking Cameron should be fun as well as those periodicals that printed his alleged "research."
