Archie Comic’s gay character gets his own series
The first gay character in the Archie Comics universe was introduced last year. Now, he’s getting his own monthly comic book.
Kevin Keller, Riverdale’s first out gay character, has a four-issue miniseries this summer, and will get even more focus starting in 2012 with a February launch of his own comic.

“He’s going to be the class president,” said Dan Parent, the writer-artist who created Kevin, to the New York Times. “Even the most popular kids are not popular with everybody,” Mr. Parent said. “There’s some adversity he’ll have to deal with.”

Keller will remain in other Archie series, allowing readers to see Keller’s marriage in the story line showing Archie’s married life. Readers can expect to see his marriage in early 2012.

Veronica is such a bitch.

He should have married Betty.

What a fool!

On edit: Not that I ever read that silly comic, of course.

3. wow. so his own comic, and not just the mini series. interesting. the 1st well known gay
superhero, Northstar (of Canada's Alpha Flight, created for Marvel by John Byrne), had a mini-series and appeared also in the Xmen, but I'm surprised to hear this Archie character will be getting his own series. Good!

Northstar -

Kevin Keller -

I don't know what the current line up is, but Jughead had his own book when I was a kid.
