Ga. Rep. Bobby Franklin, who compared gays to drug dealers, has entered Hell

Sources: Ga. Rep. Bobby Franklin, who compared gays to drug dealers, has died

Georgia Rep. Bobby Franklin (R-Marietta), a Cobb County lawmaker who once compared gays and lesbians to drug dealers, has died, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Jim Galloway. The cause of death was not immediately known.

Franklin made national headlines earlier this year after making several anti-gay comments in an interview with the Marietta Daily Journal while discussing “Don't Ask, Don't Tell.”

"The Bible says it's a capital offense," Franklin said of homosexuality in the interview. "You want someone with unrepentant criminal behavior? And it's not just that, neither should adulterers, neither should thieves, neither should a lot of things.

“The church is full of sinners, but we're told in 1st Corinthians it rattled off the homosexual, the adulterer, the thief, the liar, and such were some of you, but you've been washed, you've been justified and so forth. It's not what you were. You're not punishing a thought. But do you want an unrepentant drug dealer in the military? Same thing."

1. Never say anything about the dead unless it's good.

3. I'm betting he is being spiritually schooled right about now
I've studied people who have experienced Near-Death for over 20 years now and almost every person who has experienced this, no matter age, country, religion or not religious, they all have similar experiences.

This man is learning that he was wrong and that his words affected many people. He will receive the opportunity to experience the emotions of every person he affected, the hurt that was inflicted because of his words, and the despair he created due to his actions and influence. He will experience it all.

It is not fun when you have made decisions that go against the good of The Creator's earth and the good of mankind.

He may just have to come back in his next lifetime as a persecuted gay man or woman so that he can fully understand what he inflicted on others.

That's how karma works.

Shine on,
Annette

Some people say any loss of human life is tragic...I'm not one of those people.

7. This douchebag was a real piece of work.
Longtime Ga. lawmaker found dead

<snip>

Franklin was first elected to the state House in 1996 to represent part of Cobb County. He regularly introduced legislation - which never passed - to define abortion as murder in Georgia.

In 2003, he helped redesign the state's flag, which had been the Confederate flag for decades, but eventually voted against the final bill creating the new banner because it moved "In God We Trust" to a less prominent location and made the text smaller.

<snip>

Franklin's bills usually had a conservative or religious bent: one would have abolished the state income tax, while another would have allowed teachers to critique evolutionary theory. He supported allowing churchgoers to carry guns and opposed any bill that would increase the role of government or raise taxes, no matter how small.

<snip>

He was divorced and lived alone in the Atlanta suburb of Marietta. He had three grown children.

Rep. Franklin Dead at 56
By Associated Press and Jeanne Bonner

<snip>

Cobb County police spokesman Mike Bowman said Franklin's death is being treated "as a natural death" and foul play is not suspected.

Franklin worked as a business consultant. As a legislator, he regularly introduced bills to define abortion as murder in Georgia that never passed. He often stood as the only N in a sea of Y's for even minor legislation.

<snip>

Franklin was a prolific filer of bills. During this year's legislative session, he filed a bill that would have removed places of worship from the list of locations where guns are prohibited. He also filed a bill that would have substituted the word "accuser" for "victim" in criminal proceedings.

13. Why was his body found in his home by a woman/"family friend", not his wife?
Edited on Wed Jul-27-11 10:01 AM by Divernan
His bio refers briefly to "Pat, his wife of 27 years" but this guy missed church on Sunday morning (quelle horreur!), so someone went to check on him the next day. Absolutely no mention of where his wife was, where his wife is, when she last spoke with him, or of her expressing any shock/grief at the news.

Officials stated "foul play is not suspected" but were curiously silent about any further circumstances. Knowing the power of the Georgia GOP, any untoward aspects of his death will doubtless be covered up.
