1. Conservative Christians really hate that verse.
My old boss from a prior job was a fundie Baptist, and he spoke with venom and derision at that verse.

3. Yup, there's quite a few choice verses that conservatives try to ignore.
I especially love how they quote one part of Leviticus admonishing homosexuality, while ignoring the same admonitions against wearing mixed-fabric clothing, or eating shell-fish.

Seems some verses are more stressed than others, while others are selectively ignored.

Yes, the Bible tells Christians to be quiet and mind their own business. But I don't imagine even 0.00001% of them have read that verse, let alone live by it.
