Ann Coulter Joins Board of Gay Conservative Group GOPROUD

Coulter’s official title will be “Honorary Chair and Gay Icon.” “Ann Coulter is a brilliant and fearless leader of the conservative movement, we are honored to have her as part of GOProud’s leadership,” said Christopher Barron, Chairman of GOProud’s Board. “Ann helped put our organization on the map. Politics is full of the meek, the compromising and the apologists – Ann, like GOProud, is the exact opposite of all of those things. We need more Ann Coulters.”

“I am honored to serve in this capacity on GOProud’s Advisory Council, and look forward to being the Queen of fabulous,” said Coulter.

Personally I am more concerned with the anointing of Coulter as a "gay icon." That bothers the hell out of me. Gay icons are people - usually women - with indomitable spirit who perseveres in spite of the odds and opposition by haters trying to keep them down.

Since when did gays start anointing the "haters" as icons.

If there is any justice in this world, true gay icons such as Judy Garland, Bette Davis, and Joan Crawford would come back to life and take Ms. Coulter for a "private conversation" in the ladies room.

I can't think of any additional possible scenario on why anyone would be a member of GOProud???

Either they have to be someone that is financially doing very well, and places their personal financial interests above their own human rights, or

They have to be a person who has serious self-loathing issues.

Either way, these are people to be pitied, and really should seek mental help.

I can't imagine being a part of any group that would welcome Ann Coulter to their advisory council. That would be like my brother marrying Sarah Palin's daughter and me having to welcome here into my family.... I don't think so.

In what universe is this woman a gay icon? Gay icons usually LIKE gay people, don't they?? Ann Coultergeist is one thing and one thing only: a Washington insider who says the most outrageous things she can think of in order to make money. I'm sure she doesn't believe a word of what she says, but the right wing has bought into her "comedy act." I wouldn't want her within 1000 feet of this gay man, though!

I must say it, I've always thought Ann Coulter was a lesbian. She's pinged my gaydar from the very beginning.

I hope this doesn't go to the rumor/speculation/gossip issue that's going on currently with the Rick Perry thing.
