BROOKLYN: Lesbian Sues For Sexual Harassment, Boss Says She's Too Ugly

Openly lesbian real estate worker Priscilla Agosto, 23, is suing her former employer for sexual harassment, saying she'd been physically and verbally humiliated by her coworkers. Agosto's boss responded to the suit by claiming that she is "too ugly" for anybody to have bothered her.

Priscilla Agosto ran a gauntlet of sexual humiliation - verbal and physical - in her 14 miserable months at People's Choice Realty, her suit against its three bosses says. No less than seven male employees made lewd advances at her - even after she complained to the bosses, she said in papers filed in Brooklyn Supreme Court. Her male co-workers exposed themselves, rubbed up against her and even asked for oral sex, she alleges. And they even offered $500 to watch her have sex with her girlfriend, she said. "I hope and pray that by sharing my story, anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation will have the courage to speak up," said Agosto. Odelia Berlianshik, the owner of the Williamsburg firm, denied the charges - and launched a shocking attack on Agosto's appearance. "Who would touch her? She's an ugly girl anyway," she said of the former secretary. "She made up a story because she didn't want to work."

On edit: A picture of Ms. Agosto. I think she's a very pretty lady (and looks rather much like a woman I work with) and for anyone to call another person 'ugly' just shows how insecure they are.

6. It's the sum of the whole

I've encounted men at DU who don't believe that women are not paid equal to men with the same education and experience. They Paycheck Fairness Act failed. As far as I'm concerned - this is just one more thing that women who are trying to resurrect it can use as a hammer to say loud and clear: I deserve a decent dollar for a hard days work.

I will be willing to bet you that if this was the environment she was in? She was paid less as well.

Regardless of our orientation - women need to stick together on this. The fact that she was a lesbian means nothing to me. The fact that she was a woman in a hostile enivironment? That means everything. She can't be the only one - and I'd bet the heterosexual women that have worked there previously experienced the exact same bullshit.

Women will treat other women badly in order to curry favor with male authority figures. I also strongly suspect racism is a factor here, and probably homophobia.

Too funny though, do a search for Odelia Berlianshik (the obnoxious stupid boss). Every sight that she had homes listed no longer has any photograph of her, or contact information for her. Too bad, I was about to have some photoshop fun and post some mean photo's of her on the people's choice forum.

See just how much she likes being treated in that manner.

Anyway, on a good note, it does look like this company's business is hurting from all of this negative publicity since all the realtors photo's are no longer available, and the individual contacts list has been taken down, and the forums and discussion sections are locked out.

No real estate company can hope to keep making money while hiding their realtors like that.
