A reality television hybrid is born.
Bravo debuts its latest reality franchise next week. “Most Eligible: Dallas” will feature a cast of six single “a-listers.” Included in the cast are such favorite Dallas archetypes as beauty queen, pro-football player and, yes, a gay man. The show presents their varied quests for romance.
Drew Ginsburg is “Most Eligible’s” gay cast member. Ginsburg works for his family’s Dallas-based auto dealership business Boardwalk Auto Group. The network of 10 car dealerships boasts locations in Dallas and San Francisco and sells luxury auto brands, including Maserati and Lamborghini.
A phone interview with Ginsburg uncovered a D.C. connection. Ginsburg’s father worked on Capitol Hill for many years. He and his wife were in Georgetown one day when her water broke. The couple jumped into a cab and Ginsburg was soon delivered at George Washington University Hospital. After a few years in Florida, the family settled in Dallas. Ginsburg later revisited his Washington roots, studying for a semester of college at American University.
So why is a reality television producer drawn to Ginsburg? He’s got 200 pounds of appeal. Not only is he handsome and wealthy, Ginsburg also has an incredible weight-loss story. At his heaviest, Ginsburg weighed 420 pounds. Faced with the serious reality that he could die from diabetes like his grandmother, he knew there had to be dramatic changes.
