Chely Wright vs. Antigay N.C. Amendment

Country star Chely Wright will travel to North Carolina next week to do battle against proposed legislation that could lead to a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage in the Tar Heel State.

In an effort to halt legislation that could put the issue on the 2012 ballot, Wright will speak to North Carolina politicians Monday. The singer, who married Lauren Blitzer in Connecticut last month, will also be in attendance at a Raleigh rally against the amendment Tuesday, which is timed to the North Carolina legislature's debate on the amendment.
