One Lesbian Student Expelled, One Sues Over Yearbook Attire

Despite gains in gay and lesbian rights, battlegrounds remain. One of the fiercest is our school campuses. A study by the Gay and Lesbian Education Network two years ago found that 9 out of 10 gay and lesbian students face persecution from their peers. That's bad enough. But when the school authorities themselves start throwing stones, it can become intolerable.

Two cases in point: 1) A lesbian was kicked out of a private Christian school after being questioned about her sexuality - and answering honestly. 2) A lesbian who chose to dress in a tuxedo instead of traditionally feminine attire for her yearbook photo had the photo yanked from the school's yearbook.

The private school issues is a done deal. Her parents needs to get her out of that hurtful environment.
