"I did have a visceral response to it," Biden said, noting that his son served in Iraq. The vice president defended gays serving in the military, “I don't think they
give a damn whether the guy firing a rifle to protect them is gay or straight. I don't think they care about that. Look, this kid risked his life. This kid is there for them. And I, quite frankly, I thought it was reprehensible."
A question on "Don't ask, don't tell" submitted by a gay serviceman via YouTube during last Thursday’s debate was met with boos by audience members. GOP candidates on stage did not condemn the response.
