Herman Cain Says Being Gay is a Choice and Wants to See the Science That Proves Otherwise
http://www.towleroad.com/2011/10/cainchoice.html

Herman Cain, frontrunner in many of the latest GOP 2012 straw polls, was asked by Joy Behar this morning how he could think being gay is a choice when so many people are vilified for it.

Said Cain: "You show me the science that says that it's not. Could be persuaded. Right now it's my opinion against the opinion of others who feel differently. That's just a difference of opinion."

Cain went on to add that he wouldn't allow his personal opinions to get in the way of running the country, and also repeated his intention to reinstate 'DADT'.

Think Progress LGBT adds: "The American Psychological Association, the world’s largest association of psychological professionals, describes sexual orientation as 'a complex interaction of environmental, cognitive and biological factors.' There is considerable evidence to suggest that biology, 'including genetic or inborn hormonal factors,” plays a significant role in a person’s sexuality.'"

9. Have you seen Paulie Shore lately?
I doubt any gay man would be turned on by him, much less Herman Cain.

4. He made the assertion. He is the one who needs to provide the proof!
That's the first rule of this kind of thing. He/she who makes the first assertion is the one who needs to supply the proof.

Anyone who even considers answering him is just playing into his game.

The proper response is, "Mr. Cain, show me the proof that it is a choice!"

6. This is like there is no such thing as global warming ....
... debates. If you choose not to look @ the science then it really doesn't matter what
anybody says or writes.

BTW they have brain morphology studies, genetic studies, and blood chemistry studies that show
people are born either straight or gay.

5. Just ask him: "when did you choose to be straight?"
If sexuality is a choice, then he'll be able to remember the time when he resisted the temptation to be gay.

7. There are only two kinds of people
that believe that "homosexuality is a choice." The first is repressed homosexuals who are trying so hard not to be gay and to prove to everyone that they aren't gay that they keep telling themselves and every one else that it is a choice and they aren't making it. The second group is people who believe the first group.
