Has Zachary Quinto Come Out As Gay?

Actor Zachary Quinto, best known for playing Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and Sylar in NBC's cult series Heroes, has come out as gay in a New York magazine profile, according to a Tweet sent by Mark Harris, an editor for the magazine.

Harris, a contributing editor for the publication, tweeted "Congratulations to Zachary Quinto, out and proud in the new issue of New York magazine. Harris is married to playwright Tony Kushner, whose Angels in America Quinto starred in during its recent Broadway revival.

They finally have a gay Spock.

(For those who aren't science fiction fans, "Slash" is the term used for homoerotic relationships between two characters who are not homosexual. It comes from a story called "K/S", in which Kirk and Spock were gay lovers. Kirk/Spock remain one of the most popular slash couples to this day.)
