Cher Blasts DWTS Judges
Maksim Chmerkovskiy isn’t the only one angry at the judges of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Superstar entertainer Cher also is getting on their case.

After an angry confessional camera featuring Cher’s son, Chaz Bono, blasting Bruno Tonioli for comparing him to a penguin — and previously an Ewok — aired on Tuesday’s show (the confessional was taped Monday night), Cher leapt to her eliminated son’s defense.

“Going Home is Fine but why insult him b4 he Goes! Maybe Rudeness & Flapping Arms take the place of TALENT,” Cher tweeted, clearly singling out Bruno.

1. Well, that'll boost the ratings. The show thrives on controversy.
At the end of the day, Chaz Bono was very gracious. He made his point, and I admire his guts. He stayed on the high road, and good for him.

7. We watch it in our household, but I generally don't do the voting thing.
I leave that to others, since I'm always trying to prop up the lost cause.

This last time, though, I voted for the guy, because I sensed he was getting picked on.

That'll teach me--any time I make the effort, the poor victim gets the boot!

He did accomplish his goal, and he's been a great educator. He should be proud of his achievements.

3. I never watched the show and probably will never....
But it seems to me, from an outsiders view, that you go on the show you are subjected to the cattiness that comes with it....

8. Fair point. Ironically, there was a gender bias to the judging.
Made all the more complex because the guy they were ragging for being "round" like an Ewok or a penguin used to be a woman....and of course, all the women who go on the show as a diet/exercise plan (Kirstie Ally, Margaret Cho, Ricky Lake, Nancy Grace, etc.) are praised and called 'svelte' as they drop the weight. He was annoyed that he was getting a lot of fat jokes, which would never happen to a woman on the show.

I don't know if Bruno intended to hurt his feelings, but his overly-descriptive comments about Chaz's "roundness" started to rankle him a bit.

5. It's the nature of the business.
Sensationalism is the bread and butter of all these types of shows. I admire the hell out of Chaz and his journey to get where he is today, and all in the full public eye at that. He's an amazing man.

But as a DWTS performer, I've got to say the judges weren't unfair in the elimination, at least not in my opinion. The comments were off and downright rude.. but hell, that's what happens on these shows. Always has...

I do have to say though, as far as Mr. Tonioli making fun of Chaz, perhaps he should reflect and look at some of his own past performances before throwing a stone, and calling names from his Baccarat crystal chateau.
