Youtube - the last bastion of relentless gay bashing slurs

Reading the comments on so many youtube videos is an appalling tour through the real world of gay bashers, out of the cocoon of allegedly liberal worlds like DU. The most vulgar and derogatory comments roll by unchallenged on videos, many of which are not even about human beings who could be gay or not.

Music videos are a most popular platform for these lovely people to post their hatred, but all topics are open game. Did you know that God sent the Japan tsunami because of the large number of glbt people in Japan? Make no mistake, it is the god crowd posting most of this stuff, as they self identify within their posts.

Seems like in the early days of Youtube virulent anti-gay comments were unrecommended out of existence, but now one can read the most vicious posts that are months old, many with a string of hearty endorsements.

Then again, Youtube now shows soft porn and profanity laced videos. Some things change, some things stay the same or get worse.

1. You should distinguish people in the "God Crowd"

There are many in the "God Crowd" including myself that also fall into the good & compassionate crowd.

I will take to task anyone on the religious right when they spew their hate & bigotry which I have done so on numerous occasions, I will also go balls to the wall to defend Christians that are like me.

Yes there is a major difference & all groups have their fringes but to lump all in one group makes who ever is doing it no better than the accuser.

4. Hardly the last bastion

gay bashimg slurs abound in popular culture. I basically quit WoW over the level of venom and gay bashing there, and it's not alone. I shudder to think of what goes on in fps multiplayer games.

It's hard to overstate how stupid YouTube commenters are, on average, about every subject. Most of them, their IQs would not melt water.

Heavy on geek humor and science, but absolutely friggin' brilliant. I recommend it highly. And make sure to get the "mouseover text" for each cartoon by holding your cursor over the image.
