The second photo is from the first day I got him...he actually looks bigger in the top photo than he is...he's quite stretched out there, about half of India's size if they stood up. India looks kind of sad there, but it's the only photo I got where she looked at the camera. India tolerates him better than the others...Ashley always wants to play, and since she can't move too quickly because of her arthritis, she's stuck with him...she does give him a good face bath from time to time, and cleans his ears, so I know they're bonding. I'm guessing India is about 17...got her about a year and a half ago now as someone moved and left her behind, which still irritates me to no end. Along with the arthirtis she has liver and kidney problems, and had all these when I found her. She's very sweet and at her age has few needs, just food, a place to sit in the sun in the afternoon and lots of affection.

And he's so sweet, too, yesterday I clipped his nails for the first time and he didn't fuss at all...all he wanted to do was play with the clippers, though.

You can see it in the 6 week-old photo and while the fur coloring has changed, that has remained.

Ashley looks like he may be at least part, if not all, Maine Coon, We have a cat that looks exactly like Ashley did at three months. He was found wondering around in the rain at Folsom Lake, Our neighbors are very knowledgeable about cats and identified the breed for us. They certainly grow up to be big cats and they are very gentle and affectionate.

His markings are similar to Ashley's but your guy is much darker in color...although you mentioned them being gentle, and Ashley is...claws stay in when he play-fights and when he bites when play-fighting, he doesn't do that hard at all...it's been like that since the first day i got him.
