I work in Troy. Thank god I don't live there.
For those of you who don't know the story, newly elected Teaparty mayor Janice Daniels posted an anti-gay statement and slur on her facebook page the day after New York passed its marriage equality law last summer. Protests erupted last week when this came to light.
She was a real estate agent. She was asked to suspend her license by her employer. In good Teaparty fashion, she first admitted she was fired to one local tv station yesterday, then later denied and twisted to say it was all her idea - see this video and comments on the second link:
