My LTTE regarding the travesty I posted about last night.

I was appalled by the front page article describing the efforts of narrow minded bigots to suppress any kind of advocacy group for gay and lesbian high school students. The ignorance portrayed by the individuals quoted in the article is mind boggling. I am weary of bigoted individuals like this corrupting my religion for their own agendas. What would Jesus do? Indeed. Obviously these people have no idea of the heartache that gay teens experience as they attempt to come to terms with their sexual identity. The suicide rate for gay and lesbian teens is staggering and organizations like "Family Foundation" apparently exist only to increase it.

Ms. Wyman and her associates must be extremely unsure of their abilities to instill their morals and values in their children if they feel that they will be 'corrupted' by the very existance of an advocacy group. That is too bad. Perhaps they should take parenting lessons rather than attempting to impose their narrow minded views on everyone. My own children are extremely secure in their heterosexuality, and have embraced the morals my husband and I have tried to instill in them. Mainly, acceptance and love. The true Christian message.

The taunting and the bigotry that these so called Christians promote....is appalling.

These parents would throw their own kids out if they were to come out to them.

i wrote to them as well.

told them that they were doing a disservice to lgbtq youth, who were children of their neighbors and friends.

no matter how much they personally disliked it -- the teens needed to be able to reach out to each other.

we won't know if we do any good -- the problem is that these peoples fucked up churches provide an ever renewing well for their hate.

I'm so proud of how she is growing up.
