'Gay' penguins book frozen out in Missouri libraries
SAVANNAH, Mo. -- A children's book about two male penguins who raise a baby penguin has been moved to the nonfiction section of two public library branches after parents complained it had homosexual undertones.

The illustrated book, And Tango Makes Three, is based on a true story of two male penguins, named Roy and Silo, who adopted an abandoned egg at New York City's Central Park Zoo in the late 1990s.

The book, by Peter Parnell and Justin Richardson, was moved from the children's section at two Rolling Hills' Consolidated Library's branches in Savannah and St. Joseph in northwest Missouri.

Two parents had expressed concerns about the book last month.

No doubt they were objecting to the parts of the book where Roy and Silo take Tango to a Gay Penguin Pride Parade where Tango has plenty of questions about leather-clad penguins whose chaps leave their tails exposed or the scene in which Roy and Silo describe in detail the joys of penguin anal intercourse. :sarcasm:

Oh brother! I'm convinced that fundies are proof mankind if de-evolving back into our primitive ancestors.

2. Oh, no! It's the Apocalypse! Gay penguins? What will we tell the children?
Somebody find these morAns a better hobby.

What next, worrying about penguins showing up at Bette Midler's AIDS benefit concerts? Penguins showing up at your house and fussing over your window treatments? Penguins getting into your bathroom and complaining that you don't have decent skin care products? Of course, they are always more spiffily dressed than other flightless birds, so what would we expect? :sarcasm:

Gay freaking PENGUINS. Jeesh.

It's gay raccoons they should really be worrying about. They steal your garbage and make it into decadent sculptures.

3. Hmmm. I wonder if these folks have any dogs?
I've had dogs all my life, and it doesn't matter wether you have 2 females or 2 males, they hump each other from time to time. In dogs, it's a dominance thing. What in the world do these people tell their kids about that?

4. I am so happy that I don't live in such absolute fear of everything and
everyone that is different than I am. I should thank MY God everyday for not letting me be as crazy and paranoid and ignorant as these dumb shits are.

5. O....M....G....
Seriously.
That's just about the saddest thing I've heard today.
The kids aren't allowed to know about a cute, true story of penguins making a little family for the sake of a baby penguin, but they can learn a bunch of BS about Creation written by some guys that thought the Sun revolved around a flat Earth.

Oh Jeebus!

7. They are scared
witless that gayness could be somehow natural. If it occurs in nature, it is natural by definition. Scary to those idiots that voted for * 'cause he would protect them from "us".

8. I've complained at my library about the Bible
All the sex and violence and hints at inappropriate behavior by Ham towards his father Noah while Noah is drunk off his ass and indiscriminate murdering of civilians "in retribution" and God preferring Abel's meat to Cain's fruit (I mean, :wtf:), and the whole flood thing destroying ALL OF MANKIND for a few examples of iniquity. Again, WTF. I mean, if we were made in God's image and are iniquitous ourselves, what does that say about God? And Babel: were they punished for hubris in attempting to reach Heaven or were they punished for daring to join together and name themselves (as Derrida suggests). And it goes on and on and on and on and on and on. I suppose the Jesus parts are OK, but obviously nobody reads those anymore.
