http://wjz.com/topstories/local_story_066115105.html(AP) ANNAPOLIS, Md. A leading gay marriage opponent in the state legislature made good today on his promise to call for the impeachment of the Baltimore judge who recently overturned a state law banning same-sex unions.
Republican Delegate Don Dwyer -- from Anne Arundel County -- today introduced a resolution calling for the legislature to impeach Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Brooke Murdock. Dwyer wants her removed from the bench for what he calls incompetence and misbehavior.
In January, Murdock sided with same-sex couples who said the marriage law violated the constitution. That decision is being appealed.
The impeachment proposal was referred to a legislative committee but NOT debated today. The legislature has NOT impeached a judge in more than a century. Dwyer was also the author of a failed attempt to put a ban on gay marriages on the November ballot.
So would this be an "activist" Delegate?
