Ohio Democratic Senate Candidate Advocates Death Penalty for Gays
Yikes.

http://www.wtol.com/global/story.asp?s=4590031

The Fremont man is causing some controversy with one of his beliefs. He tells News 11 homosexuality should be a felony, punishable by death. "Just like we have laws against murder, we have laws against stealing, we have laws against taking drugs -- we should have laws against immoral conduct," Keiser says.

Keiser has no political background. He says the only reason he's running as a Democrat is because that's how he was registered the last time he voted.

Keiser will face Democrat Sherrod Brown in the May primary.

2. This is a big tent party in the end.
Edited on Tue Mar-07-06 07:37 PM by Selatius
You can't kick out people you don't like. The only thing you can do is engage in intraparty warfare. I hope Sherrod Brown beats him. The last thing we need is a bunch of religious nutjobs running as Democrats, and the last thing we need is people advocating a "final solution" for homosexuals or any minority.

13. I really don't see
I really don't see that there could be any chance of this guy winning could there? I mean all his opponent would have to do would run political ads exposing that this guy supports execution of homosexuals and that should take care of his chances of getting votes. I'd like to think people that would knowingly vote for that type of person are a very slim minority...at least I'd hope. :(

6. It must be very easy to get on the ballot there, or else he isn't
on the ballot and simply claims he is running and some reporter is stupid enough to pay attention to him.

he inserted the name of the Rethugs in Congress and Senate for their immoral conduct...

10. "only reason he's running as a D is because that's how he was registered"
Please keep that in mind; doesn't seem to have anything to do with his personal politics, his running as a Dem is just an ugly coincidence (unless he's lying and registered on purpose to smear Democrats). He will be soundly trounced by Brown's campaign.

12. Actually, Fred Phelps is a Democrat, too.
He's stated it numerous times. He said he's always been a Democrat. Ironic, isn't it?

I wonder when some LGBT people around here will wake up and realize, the tent may be big, but it ain't got room enough for everybody.

I mean, let's face it, there would be people here on DU saying we MUST vote for this guy because if we don't, the Republican will win... and after all... hey, the Republicans are worse, right?

To be frank, if a Democrat is going to be just as bad as a Republican, I'd rather have the Republican. After all, why should we settle for a pale imitation when we can have the real thing? Democrats either need to learn to offer real alternatives, or leave the party and become real Republicans.

11. Grrrr
Why the fuck do these idiots even hate the terrorists?

They want our country to be the same way Osama and co. want their countries to be.

Anti-gay? Check.

Anti-women's rights? Check.

Force your religion upon everyone else? Check.

I guess the only damn difference is they want to do it in the name of Jesus, and the others want to do it in the name of Allah. Silly little technicalities.

I HATE these stupid bastards.

15. It is very easy to get on the ballot as a Democrat or Republican in Ohio
pay a small filing fee and you are on the ballot. Sherrod Brown, who has an excellent record, will win the primary easily.

16. "Merrill Keiser, Jr., is a trucker by trade ..."
Edited on Wed Mar-08-06 12:52 AM by kweerwolf
Well that explains a lot! No doubt Miss Keiser was turned down for so many rest area and truck stop tryst that the rejection has turned him bitter toward gays in general. Poor old thing!
:nopity:
Perhaps we can fix her up with the Rev. Lonnie Latham. I think they'd make a great match.
