Bill Would Force Libraries To Restrict Books With Gay Themes

A bill is heading to the state Oklahoma House that would withhold state money from public libraries if they don't move books with gay themes and on sexuality out of children's areas.

The bill by Representative Sally Kern (R-Oklahoma City) was passed out of the House Appropriations and Budget Committee on Wednesday.
Kern wants libraries to put what she calls sexually explicit books in adult sections.

Jeanie Johnson, president of the Oklahoma Library Association, said the bill "flies in the face of the idea of a public library."

She sounds like she's never had an intimate experience, let alone a sexual one.

But of course this must mean that every children's book that depicts a mother and father in the same home...in the same bed. . .MUST be removed. After all, that has heterosexual undertones.

I'll bet there's more sex, violence, infanticide, rape, genocide, human sacrifice et al in that book than anything else in the library. But very little in the way of gay themes, huh?

11. They'll need to ban the bible from the childrens area - David and

Jonathan has always struck me as a gay theme. Even that language in Leviticus deals with homosexuality, therefore it's banned.

Of course, we need to ban all the other bible story books for kids that might lead to them wanting to read the bible since it's got those homosexual themes and all. Those stories act like feeder drugs to the hard stuff.

Wonder how they'll word the law so that the bible can't be classified as a sexually explicit book.

This homophobia this is really gone off the edge. I hope the librarians see this as an attempt at censorship and block this bill.
