Bill To Dump Maryland Judge Over Gay Ruling Dies

Legislation to impeach a Baltimore judge who ruled it is unconstitutional to ban same-sex marriage died Thursday night in committee.

The House of Delegates Judiciary Committee rejected the measure 20 - 3 in a late night vote.

The bill was filed Tuesday by Del. Don Dwyer (R-Anne Arundel). Dwyer is a leading foe of same-sex marriage in the Maryland legislature.

His measure would have removed Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Brooke Murdock from the bench. Dwyer called Murdock incompetent and said she overstepped her legal power in overturning the law.

You can't just impeach a judge because you don't like her ruling. I hope someone initiates impeachment proceedings against him for abuse of power.
