If you need another reason to support Sen Russ Feingold

Likely 2008 Presidential Candidate Senator Russ Feingold will be speaking at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Leadership Awards on May 6th. Feingold has been a consistent voice in Congress for LGBT equality, and for the civil rights and civil liberties of all Americans. Feingold was the only Senator to vote against the Patriot Act in 2001.

Feingold is also the most likely of the potential 2008 candidates to come out in full support of marriage equality for same-sex couples, but his recent appearance at the Stonewall Democrats Capitol Champions Fundraiser and his participation in this event show that he is definitely reaching out to our community for support.

Remarkable. I had no idea. I knew he was perfect on LGBT issues...I recall the HRC has consistently given him a 100% voting record.

I'm respecting this good man more and more every day.

I already jumped on the Feingold wagon! I just got my "Russ Feingold 2008 President" t-shirt yesterday (ahh the wonders of the internet). I truly hope, more than anything, he is our next President. As we have talked about before, whoever is our next President will have a lot to do. But I truly feel Russ (and I have done my research!) can change the US, for the better. He is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in, even if it's not popular. *Side note* Glad that my first post in a looooong time was to you and about one of the few great politicians left.

Mr. Feingold is not afraid to stand up for our rights, is not afraid to publicly stand behind his constituents. If he runs, I only hope that the voting public becomes an informed public and not vote on sentiment.

That said, I'm so jealous of your t-shirt. I'm going to have to get one too!
