(Duke lacrosse) Player in tussle in D.C. (gay bashing charges)

http://www.newsobserver.com/102/story/425722.html

On the same day Duke University lacrosse player Collin H. Finnerty was ordered to provide DNA samples in a rape investigation, he was in Washington to face charges that he assaulted a man last fall.

Court records show that Finnerty, 19, and two friends were arrested early Nov. 5. Finnerty was charged with simple assault.

A man told a police officer who was driving by The Georgetown Inn on Wisconsin Avenue about 2:30 a.m. Nov. 5 that Finnerty and his co-defendants assaulted him, court documents said.

The man said he was minding his own business when the three men started picking on him. The man told them to stop "calling him gay and ... derogatory names." Then they attacked him, he said, "busting his lip and bruising his chin," court records say.

So why do homophobia and racism and treating women as sex objects to be 'taken' always seem to go together? Equal Opportunity Prejudices?

1. The young republican
Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 01:31 PM by BOSSHOG
should be sentenced to three years in Fallujah to work on his anger issues. Just send a few badasses like him over there and the war would be over in a heartbeat - Not! He'd piss his pants and beg for Mommy if he had to do a man's job.

And ain't it great that they have to work in pacs, just like bush supporters in 03.

2. man's job?
So it's a man's job to snipe and kill children? It would strike any casual observer that this young man would probably love BTKing the 'haggis'.

Your moral compass seems to be askewed...

3. I don't think he made that as a sexist comment, rather a reflection
of this boy beating up old guys he thinks is gay and possibly sexually assaulting a woman - all in the name of proving his manhood.

4. Neither did I
interpret it as a 'sexist' comment.

I interpreted it as a guy THINKING that killing women, children, or 'gays' in Fallujah might be a good thing for anyone who is apparantly only practising his talents on the streets of America.
