DC Driver Tells Gays, "Get to the back of the bus."; Gets Fired

Bizarre.

A bus driver for one of the city’s new Circulator tourist buses was fired last month for telling a passenger to move to the back of the bus after the passenger complained about a message hanging behind the driver’s seat that equated homosexuality with murder.

A Circulator bus driver has lost his job after telling a patron to go to the back of the bus.
“Those comments were completely unacceptable,” said Karen Meachman, a spokesperson for the D.C. Department of Transportation, which created the Circulator bus system.

“We don’t know if he posted these signs,” she said. “But the fact that he told the passenger to go to the back of the bus was completely unacceptable.”

The brightly colored buses move tourists and visitors from the city’s historic sites and monuments to the downtown business district.

Meacham said the driver was “let go” by First Transit, a private firm that operates the Circulator buses under a contract with the city.

I'm just saying that one isn't even an inverted mirror construction talking point. you know, like: People who support the constitution over Bush aren't patriotic.

homosexuality and murder aren't even on the opposite ends of...oh well, I just realized I can't even begin to make a cogent argument on this stuff.

Needless to say, the bus driver probably SUPPORTS murdering gays but has that sign.

I'm beginning to think our society has reached the evolutionary tipping point and we starting backwards now.

I'm very new to DU, but I just have to ask, what is it with these neocons and homosexual people? This may sound very naive, but I've never been able to get an answer from these people as to why they are so concerned about homosexuality.

toes. I dunno. I'm straight and was raised a Christian. Neither me nor my parents have ever ever ever felt anything negative toward gay people because they are gay. The lack of logic is startling to me as well.

Hell, my dad was military for 20 years. He has yet to figure out how letting a homosexual join the miltary is suddenly dangerous for security. But, my dad is also not a bigot.
