Syracuse University Study: 33% of gay men are total fucking idiots

(New York City) The number of gay and lesbian families across the country is growing at a fast pace a new study finds.

The survey, by Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications for OpusComm Group an LGBT marketing company, shows that 53 percent of female respondents were in relationships and 42 percent of males are partnered.

The survey found a large percentage of gays are employed by one or another level of government - 12 percent of males and 15 percent of females.

Fifty-seven percent of the men said they live in cities, while only 45 percent of the women live in municipalities.

The survey also found that the majority of those questioned said they are Democrats - 67% of males and 72% of females said they are registered as Democrats. When it comes to voting for a candidate 77 percent of respondents feel legal recognition of same-sex marriage for tax, estate and insurance purposes extremely important in making their choice.

By comparison, only 16% of Jews are totally fucking stupid enough to be Republicans (down from 25% in 1999).

This is especially true since the Repubs. have spent vast resources of late to try and win Jews, African Americans and Hispanics to their side. Incidentally, support for the Republicans has actually dropped off during this time. I guess "getting the conservative message out" among those groups just proved how bad their message really is.

2. eh, we want higher numbers there, but...

It didn't say the other 33% were repukes. It's probably around 10% or so. Some gay people aren't too politically active, as with any demographic, and they probably just want to remain independent. Doesn't mean we can't affect some change, but 67% is still nothing to frown about.

Although I read that 22% of gay men voted for Bush in 2004.

I've tried talking politics with them and a good chunk of them just don't care and don't vote. While that still makes them total fucking idiots, it doesn't mean they're that dumb.

which means they are merely near idiots for supporting a party that doesn't have the oomph to actually do anything for them.

Caveat: I'd be a Green myself, and support Green objectives and Green platforms in the Dem party, but when push comes to shove a vote for a Green is a vote against a Dem.

even Ann Coulter points to Gallop surveys which state that 98% of jews are democrats. (I've read some of her books; I thought- and still do think- they're satire)

And Log Cabin Republicans estimates they had only 1 million members in 2000 (and those numbers are said to have gone way down).

They could be greens or socialists or other parties. They could be unaffiliated as well. Many young people dont affiliate with either party.

Many are likely independents, Libertarians or Greens -- the latter two being more pro-gay than the Democrats, in fact.
