Here's some updates, a take action, two news sites and some other
news.
...Things are abuzz here in DC....what with the BIG event next week.
Of course, I'm talking about Ken Mehlman's moment in the sun when he
is nominated as RNC Chair. Clearly we've come along way -- after
Randi Rhodes outed Ken on national radio the GOP seems to be
standing behind Mehlman. And they're standing behind David Dreier.
And they're standing behind Jay Banning. And be sure to look at the
dancing Ken Mahlman doll...it's quite cute...I've got a link to it
on the site.


Anti Amendment Gay Man Retains Control of Rules Committee -- FMA
Guaranteed to Fail Again!

GREAT NEWS! Gay Representative David Dreier (R-CA) has convinced
Speaker Dennis Hastert to ignore the committee chairman term limits
(we knew that Contract with America was garbage) and let him retain
control of the Rules Committee.

This is a MAJOR VICTORY FOR GAY RIGHTS. DREIER IS AN Anti-FMA House
Member. With his firm grip on Rules, there's no way the Federal
Marriage Amendment will get the supermajority it needs for passage.

PLEASE TAKE ACTION to Congratulate David Dreier AND to remind the
radical right that with a gay man at the head, and we mean HEAD, of
RULES...FMA is DOA!

1. I think we should make calls to James Dobson, Pat & Jerry, congratulating

them on their acceptance of a gay man as head of the Republican National Committee and as head of the House Rules Committee. I think it shows incredible generosity and growth on their part to accept these accomplished gay men as the faces of the Republican party.

2. As a Californian who has watched and listened to Drier for about the

last two years he makes me sick. Drier, who had to be outed by others, is a right wing douche bag and the scum of the earth in every other way.
One good deed as perceived by others will never be enough to undo the lying bastards sleezy performance, and actions on behalf of, as a * propaganda meister on cable news. By his actions in every other issue he degrades the dirt he stands on by meerly existing in the same state I live in. He should be targeted by the California Democratic party for replacement. Single issues are not enough to ignore the ilk this devil commits on the American public.

Having said what I think of him personally as a politician, I am amazed the GOP has done this. Seems to fly in the face of their "family values" platform. I do not think this is an effort to change their bigoted views, not real movement forward for them. It is good news for Mehlman and Drier politically and personally. Though their politics is offensive in the extreme to me.
