Michigan Amendment Backers Suing To Remove Health Care Benefits
(Lansing, Michigan) A conservative Christian law firm representing 17 Michigan taxpayers has filed a suit in the state Court of Appeals seeking to have Ann Arbor Schools prohibited from providing same-sex benefits.

The suit argues that the constitutional amendment banning gay marriage also prohibits the granting of benefits to the partners of gay and lesbian employees. The amendment was approved by voters last November.

In court papers, the Thomas More Law Center cites the amendment known as Proposal 2, which says the union between a man and a woman "shall be the only agreement recognized as a marriage or similar union for any purpose."

Thomas More attorney Patrick Gillen said domestic partnerships are the same as marriage.

1. They repeatedly lied when asked what the purpose of the amendment was. They claimed over and over again that they did NOT want to attack health care and other rights and that this applied to marriage only. They lied.

2. This shows again that the religious whack jobs are NOT in favor of granting limited rights in the name of "civil unions" like that the bigot appeasers in the Democratic party continuously erroenously claims. This shows yet again (and this isn't the first time) that they are opposed to any recognition of equality for gay couples . PERIOD. This is just another reason why pushing for worthless Civil Unions (to appease the heterosexists in the Democratic party) is a waste of time and energy. They will oppose it anyway so it would be better to go for the real thing to begin with.

1. What would Jesus do?

TAKE AWAY HEALTH CARE! DENY PARENTS ACCESS TO SICK CHILDREN! SEND ALL THE HOMOS RIGHT TO HELL, EVEN BEFORE DYING! YEA! DIE! DIE! DIE!

I'm sure that's what he would do.

edit: I just had my first violent thought EVER. Don't worry, nobody is in danger, but if I am getting this angry it's a certainty that these psychos are going to cause violence. Maybe I am being unreasonable, but when you start messing with people's families, watch out!

2. Why not
Force us all to be Christians? It would solve all their problems then we can attack other nations for not being Christian?

Yes, I'm bitter. I can't get why so many Christians would vote for an alcoholic who yells god and jesus, signs bills to help send jobs overseas, force more of us into poverty, all over gay marriage.
