GAY SKI FESTIVAL TO CELEBRATE 13TH YEAR (All downhill from here)
WHISTLER, British Columbia ? The largest international gay and lesbian ski and snowboard festival, Altitude 2005, kicks off in Vancouver Jan. 29 with an expanded line-up of activities, special events and festivities in Whistler Jan. 30 through Feb. 7, 2005.

Ranked as one of North America's top ski destinations, event organizers say Whistler provides an incredible backdrop for Altitude's seven days of skiing, boarding, outdoor adventures, world class dining, entertainment and parties.

"Altitude 2005 is presenting 40 events this year compared to last year's 29, as we aim to meet a wide range of interests and continue to build this unique, world-class event," said Lee Bergeron, president of Out on the Slopes Productions. "The fact that Altitude Gay and Lesbian Ski Week in Whistler continues to grow in scope and profile pays tribute to the memory of the event's founder, the late Brent Benaschak," Bergeron said.

2. Wish I could be there. I loved Vancouver...
My ex and I went last year. We both had the greatest time. It felt like a cleaner, nicer version of San Francisco, where I still live. The only drawback is that I haven't ever participated in any winter sports. It'd still be worth it, though.
