Gay Marriage Bill Introduced In Rhode Island
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/02/021505riMarriage.htm

Vowing to return to the legislature as many times as it takes to get a law passed, gay marriage supporters rallied today at the State House to re-introduce legislation that would legalize same-sex unions in Rhode Island.

Activists contend legalizing same-sex unions is an equal-rights issue, and say denying homosexual couples benefits currently offered to heterosexual couples is discrimination.

Gay marriage bills have died in legislative committees for years, often without hearings. The House bill and the Senate's version is identical to legislation introduced last year.
