I found this person on youtube and he hates everyone. If this is Christianity, then thank Goddess I'm a pagan!

1. Did he just claim that gays are "confused"? lol
listen up, people - I am a man who likes sex with men, and have no interest in sex with women, AT ALL.

What is there to be confused about? Maybe Hagee is confused and is saying, "gays, i feel your pain", but I'm not confused, I'm certain about my sexual orientation.

2. Every time one of these "Christians" talks about "throwing God out" (of schools, courthouses, etc)
I am so grateful to be an agnostic and not be praying to a "God" so puny that people can just throw him out of places at will.

After the Supreme Court compulsory-prayer-in-schools decision, I remember Ronald Reagan saying "They've thrown God out of the schools" and I was already grateful then that such a wussy God had no place in my life.

3. I have one thing to say.
From Queer as Folk.

Debbie: It's not about who you love, it's how you love. Genetalia is just God's way of accesorizing.

5. Dear Rev. Hagee,
I've seen you on TV numerous times, but the Spirit has now moved me to write to you in an attempt to save your eternal soul.

I know you like to point out how awful those homo-seck-shuls are and those evil feminists (who are probably lesbians anyway) and all those lib-ruls who are in favor of murdering poor innocent little babies before they are ever born. But the Spirit compels me to point out to you that gluttony is also a sin in the eyes of the one true God (not that "Allah" one who you've also rightfully preached about).

Have you seen yourself on TV recently, Rev. Hagee? I know they say the camera adds 10 pounds, but merciful saviour in heaven, just how many cameras are on you?!?!?!?

I know this may be a sensitive subject for you, but I'm sure if you'll just pray about it you can charge yourself from a roly-poly holy-roller into the studly version of male Christianity that God wants you to be. So for the sake of your immortal soul, PUT DOWN THAT STUFFED BARVARIAN CREAM PASTRY! It's EVIL, I tell you! The Devil is in that doughnut and he's gonna get inside you if you take ONE MORE BITE!!!!!!

7. I Realise That...
most Christians are not the same as this person, but it is people like this who claim to speak for Christianity and this is why so many GLBT people have been turned off to Christianity.

9. re: "this is why so many GLBT people..[are]..turned off to Christianity."
I must confess that comments like these weren't what pushed me away from my Christian roots. When I was younger my parents raised me in a non-denominational Christian church. I was told about unconditional love and about how that sort of thing comes from God no matter what you did.

It was kindergarten for me when the first inklings of something different took root within my soul. As I grew, I fast came to the conclusion that something was wrong with me when I began to notice the other boys in my class instead of the girls like most of them were doing. Still being a practicing Christian I figured I could pray the gay away.

When prayer didn't work, It slowly dawned on me that maybe what I was couldn't be changed.

Hearing christian evangelicals call what I knew I was an abomination and a choice led me to wonder what else they were wrong about.

That, in turn, led me to commit the cardinal sin of seeking out information. Information from "infidels" about christianity and the bible.

That questioning caused by their misguided and misunderstood pronouncements is what originally led me on the long and winding path toward the atheism I currently embrace today.

If I had found an encouraging and gay friendly xian church maybe I would have joined. Maybe I wouldn't have embraced reason and logic as the guiding forces in my life, or perhaps (as I now believe) it would have just put off my future embrace of no religion.

Q3JR4
Am not attempting to hijack this thread, just expressing an opinion.

8. Christianity is not the problem, fundamentalism is
One of my good friends asked me what I thought of Christianity. I told him that there was plenty of wisdom to be found in the ideas of Jesus and in the messages of the Bible. But I also said that I don't take every single sentence of the Bible literally, nor do I try to politicize God and condemn people's personal lifestyles, orientations, or cultural choices. I came out to him as (mostly) gay that night too, and was relieved to hear that he is definitely NOT like the guy in this video you posted, Falcon.

I have nothing against Christianity per se. But I have everything in the world against an intolerant, backward thinking, reactionary cultural ideology such as we are seeing in the "Christian Right."

10. I hear Ya, Karl
I have Christian Friends as well as relatives with whom I am friendly, and they are definitely not like Hagee! That man is an embarassment to Christianity.

11. sometimes it doesn't seem worth it to even try refuting the insanity
my energy is better spent on other work instead of trying to convince the crazies not to be crazy anymore.
