I had really hoped this would pass. I think of all the kids going through crap for being gay and I wish I could tell them society has their back, well it doesn't, at last the 'Christians' don't. The only people who opposed this was the NC Family Policy Council and the Chirstian Action League. Our kids deserve better, Christ would have given them better, the Pharasees didn't. I guess we can try again next year. Tonight, I just have to admit, the spirit of Jesse Helms is more alive than I wish it were.

Does your group work well with the Education Lobby? We found that we have made huge inroads with them by working with them on this. We are now allied working on ways to measure the school districts and compiling ways to enforce this and added cyber bullying this last session. See what your education people think of working on this together, it is not all about gay students, it is for all students and teachers. We are now having parents of straight kids contacting our organization asking for assistance. I bet they would make great allies for you and between the two groups you can get this done. Just a thought and some encouragement. I KNOW you will never give up, you can do this too.
