townhall.com idiocy: Five Logical Errors of the 'Born Gay' Ideology
http://www.townhall.com/Columnists/AndrewTallman/2008/07/31/five_logical_errors_of_the_born_gay_ideology

"It is core doctrine of pro-gay orthodoxy that homosexuals are born gay. Though science has yet failed to affirm or deny this, the vast majority of gays and their supporters are convinced of it. Sexual orientation is seen as something discovered, not chosen. Instead of debating the merit of this assertion, let’s grant the premise that sexual orientation is determined prior to birth by genetic, gestational or other factors. The question is whether any valid conclusions flow from this. I don’t think so."

___________

I just LOVE :sarcasm: how (professed) heterosexuals smugly assert that they, and they alone, know for a fact that homosexuals have chosen their sexuality. It's like listening to an elephant preaching to a platypus.... "You're a freak!!!! You are a mammal, but you CHOSE to look like a beaver with a duck's face and you lay eggs, you evil bastard!!!"

1. I always ask if they were born heterosexual or if it's a choice,
if they say choice, I ask them about the homosexual desire they have decided to ignore. If they say they are born that way, I ask them why they believe they are the only ones. They can't argue God wouldn't make homosexuals because of the presumption in their argument is too easy to shoot down. There are so many ways to challenge their logic on this issue, I sometime use it as an idiot test for conservatives I meet and talk with.

2. There were two guys who did a heterosexuality survey for a class outside my old apartment
They were surveying heterosexuals about "what do you think caused your heterosexuality?" and such. It would have been fun to be part of their team. Of course I couldn't participate because I'm predominantly gay, as were several other folks they tried to interview.

3. As I see it, my rights do not stand or fall based on whether or not it's genetic.
So there! :banghead:

4. Exactly. The only genetic factor that matters is humanness.
What I always find sadly ironic is that religion, which is always a choice (or should be anyway), is at the root of opposition to human rights based on something that contains elements of genetics and choice. A faulty assumption some GLBT equality supporters make is that if a clear genetic root is found, discrimination will diminish. There is no question that people are born a particular sex and race, yet the struggle for equality continues.

5. This is so right.
A faulty assumption some GLBT equality supporters make is that if a clear genetic root is found, discrimination will diminish.

As if nobody ever discriminated based on any genetic trait.

6. my choice is what needs to be protected
if I choose to do it missionary, flying nun, hole to pole, pole to pole, hole to hole, pole to hole, ear to ear, etc. with anyone of either gender, or **GASP** choose to never EVER have sex on Tuesdays.

Tuesdays are very very long days for me.

I'm an adult, and I will get in the face of anyone who tells me they have a greater right to judge my choices than I do to make them. If the villagers want to come for this castle monster with torches and pitchforks, villagers: please bring steak sauce and be prepared for a shishkebab barbeque . . . except I'm not the one on the menu.

Ugly fourth grader villagers are not just for breakfast any more.
