NY Democrats: The deal: no gay marriage and they stay Democrats.

The Democrats at the state level here in NY are making deals right and left to drop progressive demands. As the radio people in New York are saying, the Democrats here are "instantly dysfunctional".

Today the right-wing Democrats in NY blocked gay marriage, or what I think of as marriage rights for all, by threatening to leave the Democratic Party and become Republicans. The deal: no gay marriage and they stay Democrats.

The Democrats are so predictable. The question I have is whether they can actually maintain their majorities past the 2010 elections they are generating such wide spread disgust and they haven't even made it to 1/20 yet. The State Democrats here have become the butt of jokes as sell outs and spineless invertebrate of various types.

and start pointing out that they're in danger of losing that percentage in the next election.

I'm really starting to think the next Day without a Gay should be election day 2010.

It set the president for the "threat" that will be used with ever increasing regularity.
By not providing consequences for the worst of traitors, they have given the green lite for all faux Dems to act as republican as they want without need to fear any punishment of any kind.

It is "bad manners" now for Democrats to be expected to act as democrats.

I am old enough to remember Democrats not discussing desegregation for fear of offending Southern Democrats. It appears we haven't progressed very far since then.
