Over the past nine months, actress Carrie Fisher has lost 50 pounds, and she’s showing off her slimmer silhouette, reports People.

The Jenny Craig spokeswoman appeared on Wednesday’s “Today” show and spoke about her weight loss journey.

The former “Star Wars” actress, 54, showed off her new bod for "Today" host Ann Curry, who exclaimed, "Holy cow!”

I've actually lost 50 lbs myself - mostly gut - over the course of two years. I'm back to my normal 120ish range.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to rain on her parade, but I just thought it was heartbreaking that her self esteem was so low that in the Jenny Craig commercial she actually said, Please Jenny, help me be pretty once last time.

This woman has a lot of demons, if losing 50 pounds helped, that's great. But those demons live in her heart - not her hips.

with the entire populations of western societies continuously sending that message that 1. fat is the last bastion of acceptable bigotry; 2. that fat women are the ultimate target of derision; 3. that fat, older women are so contemptible as to be worthy of being totally ignored by society that doesn't want to watch them in movies or tv, or even to hire them for jobs that have nothing to do with appearances or body weight.... yet, these demons are solely living in her heart? Well, then thanks to our horrifically judgmental society, there are many many many millions just like her and more millions of young females that would starve themselves to death in fear of that judgment. sigh....

While I wish this were not the case and that she could be happy no matter her physical size, I hope she can finally feel good about herself. Good on her...
