Natural Compound Helps Reverse Diabetes in Mice
Watch big pharma have a hissy fit over this one...

ScienceDaily (Oct. 4, 2011) — Researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis have restored normal blood sugar metabolism in diabetic mice using a compound the body makes naturally. The finding suggests that it may one day be possible for people to take the compound much like a daily vitamin as a way to treat or even prevent type 2 diabetes

This naturally occurring compound is called nicotinamide mononucleotide, or NMN, and it plays a vital role in how cells use energy.

"After giving NMN, glucose tolerance goes completely back to normal in female diabetic mice," says Shin-ichiro Imai, MD, PhD, associate professor of developmental biology. "In males, we see a milder effect compared to females, but we still see an effect. These are really remarkable results. NMN improves diabetic symptoms, at least in mice."

1. "improves symptoms" does not equal "cure"

3. I knew a young man once upon a time..... he had/has diabetes. He was on glucophage
and he was supposed to add actose but never did from what I remember. His sugar often ran 200 to 300 from what he was saying. I advised him to see a particular person and inquire about time released lipoic acid, pancreatic digestive enzymes, gtf chromium and large amounts of fiber. His sugar dropped like a rock, leg pains diminished if not disappeared altogether. He did well and I only hope he is still doing well to this day. I need to get his number and contact him to see what the long term results were....

8. There a huge difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes,
however. Some type 2 diabetics can completely control or reverse their diabetes with diet and exercise. That's not possible for type 1 diabetics, unfortunately.

4. In my book, "preventing" is even better than curing...

6. Better yet -- here's info on reversing diabetes in 1 - 8 weeks
for real:

Researchers make link between carbs and Type 2 diabetes
http://www.physorg.com/news/2011-03-link-carbs-diabetes.html

New Research Finds Diabetes Can Be Reversed
The study, entitled Reversal of type 2 diabetes: normalization of beta cell function in association with decrease pancreas and liver triglycerides, was exquisitely done. The bottom line: A dramatic diet change (protein shake, low glycemic load, plant-based low-calorie diet but no exercise) in diabetics reversed most features of diabetes within one week and all features by eight weeks. That’s right, diabetes was reversed in one week. That’s more powerful than any drug known to modern science.

9. Why would Pharma have a hissy fit? They can sell NMN just like they currently sell insulin
Unless you have a special recipe for making nicotinamide mononucleotide at home?
