Increase in schizophrenia among famine children
A study of a famine in China more than 40 years ago found that children born to severely malnourished women are more likely to develop schizophrenia.
The research bolsters the evidence that environmental factors can trigger the devastating mental illness.

Compared with children born before or after the 1959-61 famine, those born during the disaster faced double the risk of becoming schizophrenic later on.

No, the brain won't work without proper nutrients. The poverty rate in our own country is sky-rocketing. Bush's main worry is if his private pond has been stocked properly so he can fish from his lawn chair on his patio. He's worked so hard and deserves a rest. What elitist BS.

3. You mentioned a very serious point,
"brain won't work without proper nutrients". If I were Special Prosecutor, I could prove aWol has been abusing alcohol and drugs since the age of 14. Together with modern day testing I could prove Bush is psychotic.

4. Bushbots wouldn't care if he was psychotic
They'd simply vote for him anyway.

2. There may be something to this ..................
My mom was born during the Depression. My grandmother never liked fresh vegetables (especially the leafy green ones). Her nutrition in a poor Nebraska farm town at that time was heavy on meats and simple carbs, with not many vitamins or minerals, little milk, and lots of sugar. When Gramie was pregnant with my mom, she says she lost all her teeth and had to get dentures, so we know ahe had malnutrition.

When I was 17 my mom was diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Kind of makes me go "Hmmmmmmm".

5. Interesting story
Especially if we consider that your grandmother's plight was not unique... I wonder how rates of mental illness rose in our country after the Depression, and as well, how did rates of criminality rise in the same generation?

BIG hmmmmmm.

Sorry about your mom.
