Non profit coop health system? |
|
I've heard about a non profit coop system debated in the senate, with folks on both sides interested.
Anyone have any more details on such a plan?

1. Seems to me, that is basically what the public option is. |

It would have everyone in one large pool, like a co-op. It would be non-profit. Maybe if we called it a non-profit co-op system instead of a public option, all the nuts would change their tune and support it. Even if it was the same thing.

The insurance shills love the co-op idea because they know damn well that co-ops can never have a large enough pool to compete with a national corporation. (As a federally administrated public option would)

3. Here in NC - Blue Cross/Blue Sheild is a non-profit - and their rates |
|
are just as high as anyone else's - seems like all the BCBS programs were originally non-profit, so we can see how well that's worked out.
