Got my treadmill Wednesday. Got it put together today (Friday).

Got my treadmill Wednesday. Got it put together today (Friday).
I worked on putting it together for about 30 minutes each time. And then doing other things. That's why it took me this long. I don't recommend anyone putting it together by themselves unless they are able to handle the labor involved. It is not easy to turn it on its side each time making sure it doesn't fall back on you or hit something you don't want hit. It would had cost $149 to have someone come in to assemble it.

Had my first walk on it and it exhausted me. Spent only 5 minutes on it and worked up a sweat. I did the 300 calorie routine and it gradually went up in speed and incline. It was geared for 30 minutes. I sure won't be doing 30 minutes for that routine too soon.

I am sure you will be able to do the thirty minutes if you allow yourself time to work up to it. If you do too much too fast you will end up quitting and not doing anything. Best wishes.

4. DON'T push yourself too hard too soon.
I started back to my rehab program in late July. My first session I was able to do only 5 minutes on the treadmill and 6 minutes on a cross trainer. I had beat myself over the head at home for doing so poorly. At rehab they told me it was fine and that I'd do better over time (I'm 68). Gradually moved up to 10 minutes, 12 minutes, 15 minutes. Am now doing 20 minutes each on the treadmill (2.0 incline and 1.8 speed) and cross trainer (level 2 resistance), improving gradually but steadily. Even after 5 months, I'm not where I'd like to be, but I'm so much better than I was. I have my life back. Take it easy and don't set yourself up to fail by expecting magical results immediately.
