It is nice to see that women have more control over their own bodies.

A new morning-after pill can be used up to five days after sex, longer than any protection against pregnancy developed so far, doctors claim.

The tablet is more effective than existing drugs taken by thousands of women each year, according to a major study.

It prevents up to two-thirds of unwanted pregnancies if used within the regular morning-after pill's time limit of 72 hours. The regular pill prevents 60 per cent of cases.

Even when taken the full five days after unprotected sex, the new pill's success rate is 50 per cent.

You want a money back guarantee? Everyone's body is different and no drug is without risks of side-effects or the possibility of not being 100% effective. If you have this attitude, I hope no one prescribes anything for you.

If you want a 100% guarantee that you won't get pregnant then I'm afraid you will have to not have sex 100% of the time.

Otherwise, you have to accept that there are options available but that they are not 100% effective based on your body, cycle and metabolism.
