Which Brand of Fish Oil do You Use?
I bought a new supply over the weekend. When I opened the jar, I almost vomited! I've been taking them for over for 3 years, Natures Made, and have never smelled anything when opening them before. I sealed it back up and am taking them back today.

But now I don't know what I'm gonna buy. I was thinking of going to BJs to buy another brand. Which brand do you use and have you ever had a bad experience with any bottles of them?

3. Consumer Reports, German Commision (D?)
Yrs ago read that G. Gov did testing.

Also try CR. Avoid trick called C. Digest ...named such to trick the unwary. Shame on chevy for using it in ads.

4. I Buy My Vitamins & Supplements From Puritan Pride! Been Doing So For
years and years! Have never had ANY problem, but then one NEVER knows. Perhaps others here have a different view, or the company might not be reputable. Still I don't know, the prices are good and sales are great.

7. I like Puritans Pride.
I've used them for other supplements in the past but never Fish Oil. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm just really disgusted and now wary of buying a bottle without first opening and smelling it, you know? Any bottle of any brand I mean.

I don't eat fish though so, ugh. Gross. I wish this hadn't happened.

13. Well I Just Took My Daily Fish Oil This Morning & Didn't Notice A Bad
smell. I've always ordered fish oil from them. OTH, I DO have a problem with B-complex, but that's not because it's from Puritan... it just stinks anyway! But I don't have to take it anymore because my doctor diagnosed me with a vitamin B deficiency and I have injections now.

In fact, I'm glad I clicked on this thread, I need to place an order for several vitamins right now. One thing about them is that you get your order delivered VERY quickly. I'll order today and I bet by Wed. or Thurs. it will be here! The service is very good!

Honestly, I've been ordering from them since the 90's and have yet to be disappointed! And no, I don't work for them!

I've been using Carlson Super Omega 3. I get it from Swanson Products website. I had done some reading in various forums and in terms of being molecularly distilled, having Vitamin E (which interacts with the fish oil), and omega-3 fatty acid content, Carlson seems to be considered the best.

I had bought it for my dog's coat/skin issues, and after a couple of months her coat is gorgeous. And less prone to mat (the groomer used to have a terrible time combing out her dreads).

(Edited to remove an apostrophe from a plural. LOL! There's a disease that catching & needs a remedy to counteract)

9. SwansonVitamins.com has a full line of supplements, including
glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM much cheaper than anything I've seen in stores.

(and yes I know "studies have shown" that Glu/Chond doesn't help joints, but my joints don't read studies funded by Big Pharma, and my joints really like the stuff. I've been a Swanson fan for ten years at least.

Thanks for the suggestion.

14. My Nature's Made
don't smell at all. Maybe one of your capsules was damaged. All I know is that my dog won't take a capsule unless I stick it with a pin so that he CAN smell the fish.

17. I've heard that there are non-fish algae sources for the same Omega 3 oils.
I haven't tried them since I still have a couple months supply of Spring Valley brand from WalMart, but they are supposed to be just as good as fish oil without the mercury, dioxin, and PCBs that are showing up in fish these days.

There are a lot of opinions on the matter, but the only solid scientific study was using algae Omega 3 in infant formula, which showed it to be superior: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Docosahexaenoic_acid#Algae-derived_DHA_in_infant_nutrition

other forms of Omega 3s. I thought flaxseed contained it but that's Omega's 6/9. Thanks for the link!

24. Look into Hemp Seed Hearts
google it. I've started on them and feel great, more energy, not hungry all day and very, very regular. They have a great combo of the good oils and many other nutrients. I paid $15 for a pound, which I don't mind, but the $8 shipping sucks. I'd like to buy in larger bulks size next. I have been and still take a flax seed oil pill in the morning and night. Also 2 fish oil pills at noon. I've stopped eating all red meat and eat chicken and fish. Stopped all white foods like rice, potatoes white flour foods, sugar. Drink at least a half gallon of herbal ice tea everyday. 61 years old and don't feel a day over 59.:-)

18. I buy Nordic Naturals
Pro-DHA (they come in strawberry flavor). They sell them at my doctor's office and at some health food stores in NYC. Don't know about BJs. The problem with fish oil is that they can be smelly or cause smelly burps. Nordic naturals don't do that for me at all, which is why I've stuck with them for years.
