Any advice for me? I have cold feet all winter. This is not new,

I have had this since I was a child. I would like to know if there are any socks on the market that help with this problem. I wear all cotton socks and I know they are not good for cold feet but since I wear orthotics, I have to have a fairly slim sock. Any suggestions would be helpful as I am about to go out and buy some winter socks. My feet are already cold. (Old house, cold floors)

I am a Marshall's type shopper and I can't afford $40.00 a pair. Is there a blend or type that is better than 'all cotton'?

2. As I have been getting older the lower part of my legs and my

feet are cold all the time. I had a circulation test conducted to make sure there was no physical problems and there weren't.

6. I sometimes see cashmere socks at Marshalls

They're not bulky, but they're warm and cozy because they're cashmere.

We moved from VA to MI and the winters are COLD! The record cold in VA I think was -3...hell our first winter it was -30!

8. My mom used to knit wool socks out of old sweaters she

bought at the local flea market. She'd unravel them and knit socks, mittens and hats. Those would keep the feet warm and dry outside. Other kinds may have kept us warm, but not dry. A pair of regular socks inside the knit wool ones were great. I was allergic to wool so the other sock kept me from itching. We lived in the upper part of lower Michigan too.

9. I have the same issue. It is an iscy hot for me. I bought an electric

bed warmer that just covers the foot of my bed. You can also put a heating pad down there on low but sometimes they do an auto cut off thing @ the end of the night.

As for socks. Get the chenille (sp) kind they are cheap, they are soft and they don't usually mess with your blood flow which can also impact your foot temp. You can get those socks just about everywhere and they are usually in the slipper or lingerie area.

11. fleece socks

I have the same problem due to a medical condition that plagues me. I wear these socks that are made out of fleece and they keep your feet quite warm. Here is a picture of some of the various types. http://www.hanksclothing.com/acorn_fleece_socks.html

I have them in navy blue and a dark purple color. They wash up nicely and seem to last a very long time.

I also found a product called "Feet Relief" which is sold in health food type stores and sells for about $6.00 a bottle. You rub this on your feet and it heats them up and they stay warm for a good long time after wards. It is made by Aubrey Organics and it is very good for dry skin in particular as well as circulation in the feet.

13. 'Helly Hansen' socks are the warmest I've ever come across.

Sometimes being out for hours in our boots that were leather but not insulated .... these socks were literally feetsavers. They're a bit expensive but last forever. Helly Hansen underwear is more or less the official uniform here in the winter, the warmest is bulky, so you see a lot of people just in their one-piece undies and a pair of jeans overtop. The socks are great.

14. There are thin woolie mixes. Try a sporting goods store (REI) or similar

look for liner socks or socks that are used in conjunction with another pair for cold weather use.
