SCOTUS and the Thugs can not have it both ways
Either States right trumps Federal Power of it doesn't. SCOTUS will hear oral arguments on Oregon's assisted suicide case shortly. NOW we have sent many cases of (watering down ROE) back to the States, It has been deemed that Medical Marijuana was illegal...Which is it?

PERSONALLY, as a progressive liberal/libertarian I want my Government on EVERY level out of my bedroom, doctors office and the wedding chapel. As long as protections are in place; I think a person as a RIGHT to die! I think a person has a RIGHT to terminate a pregnancy. A personal has a RIGHT to take medical marijuana if prescribed by a doctor in small quantities. Ashcroft was wrong ( no surprise) that he used Federal drug laws to prevent this. Doctors have turned up the morphine drip at the end of life for years.

AND YOU?

2. Why not? They had it both ways for the Selection of 2000 didn't they?

When States' Rights serve their purpose, they give lip service to states' rights..but when it serves their goals to override states' rights with Federal power, they will just blindside states' right without a second thought.
They have no shame as well as being totally unprincipled.
You know the type; they pee on your shoes and tell you it is raining.

edited for typos...as usual.

4. They do not want ideology, they want power
Wedge issues to create the illusion of ideology is just a weapon in their arsenal. Power is the goal. Power makes money when you use it just so.

Ideology can get in the way of profits. Example: That's why there are so many casinos these days. Pushed through, for profit, but pols who got elected feighning a certain values ideology. If they really stood for the values they proclaim, they wouldn't pimp for casinos.
