Eminent Domain, International Politics, and International Law
Are there any countries that might offer refugee status to someone whose land is taken by means of eminent domain for the purpose of private development of the land?

Is there a possible role for international courts in establishing appropriate amounts of monetary compensation for land that is taken by means of eminent domain? Given that the use of eminent domain does not require the consent of the land owner, it seems possible that local courts could assign unreasonably low amounts of compensation.
