9th Circuit Court reversed 88% of the time this term by the Supreme Court
Edited on Thu Jul-02-09 04:02 PM by Adir Pykhtin
In the term that just concluded (from October '08 to June '09) the 9th Circuit Court of appeals had 14 decisions reversed by Roberts' Supreme Court, against 2 upheld ones, the Daily Journal of California reports.

That is an 88% reversal rate.

But don't expect right-wingers to hype this story, since they pretend that Sonia's Sotomayor's similar reversal lifetime rate somehow makes her a bad judge and a racist one to boot.

1. They will just say
that the 9th circuit court is far left wing and so is Sonia.

2. Most cases are reversed, because the S.C. doesn't accept a case unless
they think there is a good chance they will reverse. If they know they agree with a case's outcome, there is no reason to put it on their docket.

6. The 9th circuit tends to be in the top overturned year after year.
It has been that way for decades, if I remember correctly.
