Execution Date Set For Man Who Killed Mom, Daughters (FL)
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 11, 2011)—Oba Chandler, who was convicted of killing an Ohio woman and her two teenage daughters in June 1989 in the Tampa Bay area as they traveled home from a Disney World vacation, is set to receive a lethal injection on Nov. 15.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed the death warrant Monday.

Chandler was convicted in 1994 of murdering Joan Rogers, 36, and her daughters, Christe and Michelle after the Wilshire, Ohio woman asked him for directions to a Tampa motel.

Authorities say he tied weights to their necks before tossing them in Tampa Bay, but the remains later floated to the surface ...

1. It sure is hard to muster sympathy for this guy.
Still, life in prison is no joyride either.

And that way we don't ever kill the wrong person AND we don't have to sink to the level of murderers ourselves.

My friend's job was to ferry the poor woman around on either side of the main event, make sure she got fed and wasn't just left to suffer alone. It sounded like a dreadful day for her, full of grief and sorrow, none of it her own fault or doing

4. That is trully horrible, to have a son who is a killer, and then to have
to endure his execution. And through it all, no one to sympathize with her pain.
