An innocent man is still sitting in jail 32 years later . . .
In 1975, Gary Tyler was wrongly convicted of murder in Louisiana. As a 15 year old, he found himself condemned to death. Shortly afterwards, a national solidarity movement sprang up in his defence. When the sentence was changed to life in prison, the energy slowly went out of the movement, and Gary Tyler sank back into oblivion.

This past summer, Joe Allen published an article in International Socialist Review, bringing to light Gary's continuing incarceration. The article can be found here http://www.isreview.org/issues/49/garytyler.shtml.

Additional information about Gary, including a statement from Amnesty International declaring him a political prisoner, can be found here http://www.freegarytyler.com

Consider all that has happened in your life since 1975 which you would have missed out on if you were locked in a cell. Spread the word . . .

1. It's depresssing to think that some still say the U.S. system of justice is the best

system of jurisprudence on Earth. Our system is not geared towards seeking justice and correcting injustices; it's about controlling the masses by whatever means necessary, by the crooked ballot or the straight bars of a massive gulag.

two great kids, college, so many things. It is incredible to me that such an error has not been corrected. How do you give someone back decades of their life? I will tell others and direct them to this thread and the websites. Thanks. XO
