Demographics among Republicans vs Democrats

A friend of mine is trying to claim that Republicans are as diverse as Democrats.
Can anyone post a link to actual stats that show how many white voters there where each party in the 2008 elections or anything else that would be usefull?

Mostly looking for charts and pictures instead of long articles.

4. Thanks I could certainly use this information to build my argument up but I am still looking...

for simple graphs or numbers to point out in clear comparison that Dems have higher numbers of minorities. I can find them for individual states but I'm having trouble finding something for the whole country.

Didn't your friend see the conventions last year? From what I saw, the attendees at the conventions were pretty fair representations of the parties at large.

9. ONe could certainly argue and they do but...

when 89% of Republicans are white and only 11% other
while only 65% of Democrats are white with 35% other
there is an unquestionably larger racial diversity amongst Democrats
and greater racial diversity leads to greater ideological diversity does it not?
