Geez, you thought that kind of talk would be restricted to Stormfront.org. Sadly, Stormfront and the racist websites must be linking to mainstream news sites and voting up comments along the lines of "what about black criminals?" on hate crime/race related articles. A recent example: Southern Poverty Law Center president J. Richard Cohen contributed the article "
Hate crimes are a national problem", citing the cases of James Craig Anderson, a black man murdered in Mississippi by white teenagers, Marcelo Lucero, a murdered Ecuadorian immigrant from New York, and the black youths assaulting white attendees of the Wisconsin State Fair this year. Even though Cohen covered all bases the top comments on the article the second-highest "liked" comment (with 55) read: "...blacks are much much more likely to attack whites than vice versa." The third (with 38): "Here we go again. African American journalists are quick to point out the increasingly rare crimes committed against blacks, but avoid the pandemic violent nature of the African American community. This is why folks don't take this rubbish seriously."
Again, I'm not sure if average Americans are really buying into this message, or their claims may be an under-reported truth and thus the media really has a liberal/politically correct bias, or aggressive aggregators are planting these comments en masse and voting them up with sock accounts. In a more civilized society the top comments would be in agreement with what Cohen wrote rather than such a narcissistic detraction.
