Two families swap races on new mini-series

From the article: "Starting Tuesday night, FX (10 p.m.) takes a more serious approach to race in a six-part series dubbed "Black. White." that blends elements of a serious documentary with a reality show.

"The idea is simple: Two families, black and white, swap races to live life in the other's skin for six weeks. Like "Real World," they stay in a house together. And thanks to Hollywood makeup, prosthetics and hair, they undergo major makeovers."

A religious god-fearing family traditional family swaps with a gay traditional family - live in each other's shoes for a while.

8. Too many of us have already played the role of religious god-

fearing family and then swapped it for a gay traditional family.

It would only be educational for the first family, the second one has seen it already. But I'd donate to the production costs, it would be good for some of them to walk a day in our shoes. (unless it's that God Warrior woman)

10. There was a "Wife Swap" episode like that.

McMansion dwelling, rethuglican, fundie couple (the wife was African-American, but culturally whiter than I am) traded with a lesbian couple.

The good news on that show is that the "new" mom usually manages to bond with the children, even if she thinks the other parents are freaks, and the black/fundie/rethug mom did as well. However, she never did approve of the lesbian's household.
